Horizon Air Improves Connections

It’s the small things that make a difference in flyers’ lives, such as improved connections. To that end, Horizon Air is tweaking service to eight destinations, fine-tuning them in response to customer input. Here’s what’s happening:

Yakima, Washington (YKM) As of January 5, 2009, the first of four daily round trips to Seattle/Tacoma (SEA) will leave YKM 30 minutes earlier, at 6am. That means better connection opportunities in Seattle for early birds.

Wenatchee, Washington (EAT) On January 5, 2009, the first of four daily round trips to Seattle/Tacoma will leave Wenatchee at 6am, an hour earlier than before it used to. Better connection opportunities at Sea-Tac here too result.

Tri-Cities/Pasco (PSC) Also beginning January 5, 2009, Horizon tweaks the timing of the last return flight of the day from Seattle/Tacoma to Pasco. It will leave Sea-Tac ten minutes later than before. That will allow flyers to make connections from flights from Phoenix (PHX), Orlando (MCO), San Francisco (SFO), Las Vegas (LAS), Spokane (GEG), and Juneau (JNU).

Redmond/Bend, Oregon (RDM) On March 3, 2009, the first of three daily round trips between Seattle/Tacoma and Redmond/Bend will depart Sea-Tac three hours earlier than before – at 2:50pm.

Boise (BOI) On March 31, 2009, the first of two daily flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Boise will depart at 9:45am instead of 10:50am.

Flagstaff, Arizona (AZ) March 31, 2009, also sees the second of two direct daily departures from Flagstaff (which serves the Grand Canyon) to Los Angeles leaving at 4pm, instead of 5:10pm. This allows passengers to make more connections at LAX.

Santa Rosa, California (STS) March 31, 2009, is a good day for Santa Rosa flyers who want to work a day in LA, and be back at home in their own bed the same night for a full night’s sleep. By changing the departure time of the second of two daily nonstops from LAX to the northern California airport from 8:05pm to 6:15pm flyers can actually be home in time for a late dinner.

Beginning December 18, Horizon is axing one of its two daily nonstops from Los Angeles to Medford, Oregon (MFR). Seasonal demand is the reason. Double-daily service is expected to return on March 31.
