Southwest Airlines’ Kansas City–Fort Lauderdale Nonstops Are Back
You don’t have to change planes or make a stop anymore to get from Kansas City to Fort Lauderdale. Now, you can make the trip from heartland to seashore nonstop.
Discount airline Southwest’s brightly painted Boeing 737s are the conveyances, and the move means WN (the carrier’s code) now offers nonstop service out of Kansas City to 20 destinations across the country.
In addition to launching Lauderdale service, Kansas City’s dominant carrier, discount or otherwise, laid on a couple of more daily Kansas City–Denver nonstops. That means Southwest flies the heavily traveled route a half-dozen times daily.
Southwest has been in Kansas City for more than a quarter of a century. The carrier first started flying there in 1982.
