Which Routes Are Pricier, Cheaper? Priceline’s Analysis

If you want to fly round trip from Atlanta to Baltimore this week, it’s going to cost you 37 percent more, on average, for the lowest airfare than last week. On the other hand, the price of the lowest average airfare between Chicago and San Francisco tumbled by 11 percent during the same period of time.

Such are some key findings from Cheapflights’ partner Priceline.com's Airfare Index (November 17). The percentage change compares fare averages for the current week with those of the previous week. The prices Priceline.com lay out are comprehensive; they’re round trip, and include taxes and fees. These rates are subject to change, and there’s no guarantee that any airfare will be available in the amounts listed below.

Here’s the rundown in some select markets:

- Atlanta to Baltimore $363 +37%

- Orlando to Washington, DC $307 +30%

- Newark to Houston $407 +17%

- Philadelphia to Los Angeles $435 +15%

- Newark to Fort Myers $395 +11%

- Los Angeles to Detroit $445 +9%

- Baltimore to Denver $357 -5%

- San Diego to New York City $474 -6%

- Washington, DC to Dallas $440 -7%

- Denver to Las Vegas $203 -8%

- Seattle to Phoenix $302 -8%

- Chicago to San Francisco $371 -11%
