Allegiant Offers Flights to Florida's Punta Gorda

One of the most sublime places on the winding, sinuous Florida coast is Punta Gorda (PGD), located in the southwest section of the state below Tampa. Now, more travelers will get a chance to experience the serene destination spot thanks to discount airline Allegiant.

News from Allegiant reports that the airline will offer nonstop Punta Gorda flights from Greenville/Spartanburg (GSP) and Knoxville (TYS) beginning in March 2009. To get travelers excited, Allegiant if is offering introductory one-way discount airfares of $59 and $69, respectively – exclusive of taxes and fees.

Allegiant will fly passengers to Punta Gorda on 150-passenger MD-80 twinjets.

The $59 and $69 discount airfares from GSP and TYS need to be purchased no later than Dec. 24, 2008. These one-way rates are good through April 30, 2009 (blackout dates apply from April 5 – 20).
