Discount Airfare: Horizon Air Flights to Mammoth Mountain

Here’s the ski-seasonal proposition: spend five hours driving from Los Angeles (LAX) to Mammoth Mountain (MMH) and its myriad of wintertime diversions, or spend an hour in-flight on Horizon Air.

The Sierras are wondrous from on high, and now you can experience the scene thanks to Horizon Air’s new daily non-stop Los Angeles flights to Mammoth Yosemite Airport.

Los Angeles flights leave daily at 2:20 p.m. and arrive MMH by 3:25 p.m. – plenty of time to check in to your hotel, and hit the slopes for a late afternoon run. The return leg leaves Mammoth at 4:05 p.m., and arrives in Los Angeles by 5:10 p.m. Passengers on connecting Los Angeles flights will have plenty of time to make a connection at LAX.

Horizon Air’s airplane of choice on this choice route is the Q400, a 74 – 76 –passenger prop-jet that’s quiet and commodious. The craft fits with the eco-consciousness of the region it serves. It burns 30 percent less fuel, and emits 30 percent fewer emissions than comparable jets.

Last week Mother Nature dropped more than three feet of snow on Mammoth Mountain, giving the area some of the best skiing and snowboarding conditions on the continent.
