Heathrow Airport Named Worst Airport in World by Travelers

The airport is the gateway to the rest of the world. It's your first stop before setting out on an adventurous vacation, a much-needed holiday from the chaos of everyday life or an important business meeting that can make-or-break the deal of the century. Whether you're flying home to see mom or off toconquer the world's international markets, the airport is the starting point so it's no wonder travelers are outspoken when it comes to rating the best, and the worst, airports around the world.

In a recent survey from Priority Pass (www.prioritypass.com), an independent airport lounge program, Asian airports were voted the best in the world while London's Heathrow was voted the worst airport in the world by Priority Pass members.

London's Heathrow Airport captured 15 percent of the votes for "worst airport," but it was British travelers who came down hard on their hometown - 30 percent of British travelers named Heathrow the worst airport in the world. Among the other airports holding a place on the unfortunate list were Paris Charles de Gaulle, Los Angeles International Airport and Chicago's O'Hare.

But for every bad list there must be a good list. Travelers voted Hong Kong the best airport in the world, followed by Singapore and Amsterdam.
