Northwest reducing Amsterdam flights
Northwest Airlines reducing flights between Portland and Amsterdam on a temporary basis, it has been revealed.
The carrier is eliminating one flight per week, bringing the current five weekly services to four per week.
The reduction will come into effect on January 11 2009 and will continue until March 23 2009 when the eliminated service will be reinstated, The Portland Business Journal reports.
A spokeswoman for Northwest told the publication that the reduction was a result of "matching capacity to demand in light of the current economic climate".
Earlier this month, the carrier announced it was starting flights between Hartford's Bradley International Airport and the Dutch capital on June 2 2009.
