United Offers Waivers to Bangkok Travelers
United Airlines is offering a waiver for passengers with flights to Bangkok. Airports in the Thai capital have been closed after anti-government protesters laid siege to them.
Thai authorities recently opened the airports but hundreds of thousands of travelers are still waiting to board their Bangkok flight home. In addition, many travelers hold tickets on future flights to Bangkok - travel is uncertain at the moment, due to distress in the area.
United is offering travelers who booked their flights to Bangkok with United before Nov. 25, and are traveling before Dec. 15, to one change to their schedule free of charge.
Revised itineraries must be on the original route. Travelers wishing their change their routes will have to pay a fee.
Meanwhile, passengers who are currently in Bangkok can make changes to their return trip to the U.S. if the new date of travel is within seven days of the original ticket.
