Report: Travelers Less Frustrated With Airlines, Airports
A national survey of U.S. travelers has revealed that frustration levels are dipping.
The quarterly Access America Travel Frustration Index, conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs, found that frustration over gas prices was down 35 points from August 2008 and 27 points compared to December 2007.
Meanwhile, frustration over airport and airline services was down by ten points compared to December 2007 and annoyance over security was six points lower than the same period last year.
"The cost of travel, which is greatly impacted by the cost of oil and gas, has been the major source of frustration for the last year," said Mark Cipolletti, vice-president of Marketing and Communications at Access America.
"But now, with cheap gas and airline tickets, consumer frustration has plummeted - so much in fact that people don't even appear to be upset about baggage fees and the loss of free in-flight amenities."
