Hudson River Flight Passengers Finally Receive Luggage

The 150 people on board US Airways Flight 1549 all survived, but did their luggage?

After four months of waiting, the passengers of the famed Hudson River flight are finally receiving their luggage.  Some US Airways 1549 passengers happily report that designer jeans, car keys, and personal items are safe and sound, working and looking like they originally had before the flight. Others report that money had been removed from their wallets, and clothes were shrunken or damaged.

According to the New York Times, AIG, US Airways’ insurance company, has offered some passengers $10,000 if they agree not to sue the airline over losses or damages suffered from the ‘miracle flight’. The costly offer doesn’t sway some passengers, who are still upset with AIG for ineffectively handling their medical bills.

No official agreement has been reached, but passengers will continue to receive their belongings, whether wrecked or in good condition, until all of the parcels have been identified.
