Orbitz.com Extends No Booking Fees for Hotels

Hotel-porter Orbitz.com announced it will extend the hotel booking fee cut on all of its hotels. Orbitz launched its Total Price hotel search and the Hotel Price Assurance program in April.

Orbitz launched its no booking fees promotion for hotels in April 2009, at the same time the company introduced the "Total Price" feature, which displays all hotel prices with taxes and fees at the initial search stage.

What's the meaning for consumers? Simply put: no hidden fees. When consumers go to book hotels for their next trip, they don't have to wait until the booking stage to learn the hotel price including taxes and fees -- instead, Orbitz displays the total price in the search results. In addition, Orbitz will continue to waive its booking fees for hotels.

“We’re absolutely committed to making Orbitz the best place to book a hotel online,” said Barney Harford, president and CEO of Orbitz Worldwide. “The extension of the hotel booking fee cut, the introduction of Total Price hotel search results and the launch of Hotel Price Assurance are meaningful differentiators for customers that separate Orbitz from the rest of the pack.”
