Air New Zealand Replaces Boeing 737-300s with Airbus A320s

Airbus
Air New Zealand has ordered 14 Airbus single-aisle A320 air-crafts recently to accommodate its passengers.  The purchase cost up to $1.07 billion, and will replace the Boeing jets that is uses now.

Air New Zealand also plans to purchase 11 more Airbus planes in the near future.

This year, plane makers have received fewer orders. The reason for the massive purchase is evidently due to the lowering of fuel prices, the increase in flight sales, and a generally weaker demand. Airbus A320s are also significantly larger than Boeing 737-300s.

According to USA Today, Airbus has accumulated 123 net jet orders since Sept. 30, while Boeing has received 84 since Oct. 27.

What does this mean for travelers? If you book flights with Air New Zealand, you'll be sitting on newer and larger planes than you had been before.
