Airlines Offer Travel Assistance to Customers Affected by Hurricane Ida
It was a mild summer by many standards, but the Southeast U.S. and the Gulf Coast are now bracing for what meteorologists hope will be the last storm of the 2009 hurricane season.
Hurricane Ida is barreling toward Texas and Florida's Gulf Coast as a category 1 storm, and some airlines are already prepping for what they anticipate will be a chaotic schedule.
Delta Air Lines is allowing customers on booked flights operated by Delta, Northwest Airlines or Delta Connection carriers through Tuesday, Nov. 10 to make a one-time change to their travel schedule without a fee if they are flying through:
Fort Walton Beach, Fla.Gulfport-Biloxi, Miss.
Mobile, Ala.
Panama City, Fla.
Pensacola, Fla.
Tallahassee, Fla.
The no-change fee will be in effect for flights rescheduled by Nov. 11, 2009. Travel for changed itineraries after Nov. 11 may result in a fare increase. If your flight is cancelled you may request a full refund. More details are available at delta.com and nwa.com.
Cheapflights.com recommends that those travelers on booked flights to/from the above cities check with their airline carrier at least 24 hours prior to your departure to get information on changed flights and new itinerary policies.
