Horizon Air Cuts Flights from Walla Walla to Seattle
We’ve told you about some of the major carriers in the airline industry, like Delta cutting flights in order to save costs, but the smaller regional airlines are preparing for financial strain as well. Yesterday, Horizon Air announced that it will cut one out of three daily flights from Walla Walla to Seattle, Washington.
The decision comes as a last resort, and one that has been worked on since last year. Back then, Horizon realized that its larger planes weren’t filling to capacity, and made a switch to smaller, 76-seat Q400. Still with not much success or demand, Horizon made direct flights to Seattle more profitable by adding a stop in Pasco.

After these attempts, however, the lack of travelers on the particular route aren’t increasing, and as of Jan. 6, 2010, there will no longer be an 11:55 flight from Walla Walla to Seattle.
The existing flight routes for the two destinations are as follows:
Flights from Walla Walla to Seattle will depart at 6:50 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. daily.
Flights from Seattle to Walla Walla will depart at 3:40 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. daily.
