Aircraft sales show recovery in the airline industry

Boeing and Airbus sell more planes this quarter
Through seasons of economic downturn, airlines all over the world are finally seeing a financial uptick in profit after a decent showing in the second quarter. Airlines like American, United and Allegiant have made noteworthy progress, even through narrow losses.
The biggest sign of recovery though, comes by way of aircraft sales. UK carrier Flybe has reportedly purchased 35 Embraer 175 aircrafts, and the Air Lease Corporation has an order for 54 of the next-gen Boeing 737-800s. Royal Jordinian Airlines also has orders for three Boeing 787-8’s.
Airbus is seeing business coming in as well. The European company is getting planes out to Hong Kong Airlines (25 of the A350XWB).
The most attention-getting business deals though, are due to Boeing’s much-anticipated 787 Dreamliner, which has been significantly delayed, but has secured orders with a handful of airlines around the world already. Boeing has made off well for sales at the Farnborough International Airshow this week – especially from leasing companies and carriers in the Middle East.
Asian, North American, and European carriers have also made recent purchases.
