Alaska Airlines Announces New Flights from Hawaii to California

If you have to leave Hawaii for something, it might as well be California. Alaska Airlines makes it easier to ease you out of your sunny, paradisaical coma by taking you from the gorgeous Hawaiian Islands to the bay area near San Francisco.

Today, the airline announced that it will begin four-times weekly service between Oakland and Kahullui (on the island of Maui), and tomorrow it will announce its three-times weekly service to Kona.

Mexico Travel: Alaska Airlines’ Flight Sale to Mexico from $254

It seems everywhere we look lately, there’s another great Mexico flight or hotel deal popping up. This week, West Coast travelers reap the benefits with Alaska Airlines’ flight sale to Mexico beaches and cities.

Alaska Airlines is offering discounted fares to 10 destinations, including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City. Flights start at $95 each way, exclusive of taxes. Travel is valid between now and March 17, 2010. Book by Nov. 17.

Alaska Airlines Adds New Flights to Austin, Atlanta, Seattle, and Others

Alaska Airlines is the go-to airline for flights around Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, but they’ve recently added a southern flair to their route list.

Flights are now available to Austin, Atlanta and Houston from Pacific Northwest cities, such as Seattle, Spokane, Portland. And in honor of the new routes, the airline has also discounted fares to these cities for a limited time.

Book by Nov. 11 and travel between Oct. 25 and March 10, 2010. Blackout dates are listed around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, so expect higher rates then.  We searched for a flight between Seattle and Atlanta in early November and found a round-trip flight for $239.20 with taxes included.

Alaska Airlines Flights to Alaska From $179 OW

50 never looked so good. Alaska is celebrating half-a-century of statehood, but here’s the good-looking part: Discounted fares from Alaska Airlines to Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks.

Flights to Alaska must be booked by Nov. 2, but travel is valid through Aug. 25, 2010. With almost a year’s worth of travel time, you can book a flight to Alaska and experience a true Alaskan winter or spend the spring or summer there and enjoy the unbelievable scenery and landscapes – perfect for outdoor activities.

Take note of black-out dates to and from Alaska, which occur around the holidays and select dates in March. We tested the Seattle to Juneau route and found the $179 fare for most mid-week flights in November.  With taxes, a round-trip flight totals $379.

Alaska Airlines' Fall Sale: Flights From $29

Alaska Airlines has launched its Fall Sale with discounted fares to Los Angeles, Seattle, Lihue and other U.S. cities. The sale also includes flights to Mexico, Hawaii and Canada.

In order to get the sale fares, you must fly Monday through Thursday and Saturday. The fares increase on other days. The flights are valid between Sept. 14 and Feb. 10. If you’re flying to a warmer climate – Hawaii and Mexico – travel is good through Dec. 16.

The black-out dates included in this sale occur around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, but check the fine print to find exact dates.

Alaska Airlines Introduces Non-Stop Service Between Portland and Chicago

Go from the West Coast to the Windy City.

Alaska Airlines has announced new daily non-stop service between Portland and Chicago O’Hare.  Plus, if you book a flight by today, Aug. 31, you can enjoy the introductory rate of $99 each way, exclusive of taxes.

The service will begin on Nov. 16 with flights departing from Portland at 10 a.m. and flights from Chicago departing at 4:45 p.m.

Alaska Summer Extension Sale: Fares from $49 OW

The “Back-to-School” commercials have begun and the days are getting a little bit shorter. We hate it to admit it, but summer is winding down. Alaska Airlines feels our pain and has launched their Summer Extension Sale to several warm weather destinations.

Book flights by Aug. 14. In order to get these sale fares, travel Monday through Thursday or Saturday between Sept. 14 and Dec. 16. Mexico flights are valid for travel daily.

We were able to find the $49 fare from Seattle to San Francisco in September and with taxes the total flight costs $119 round trip.

Alaska Airlines Fall Flight Sale from $57 OW

Most of the country is basking in the dog days of summer right now, but Alaska Airlines has autumn on its mind. Their Fall Preview Sale boasts a new schedule and cheap flights to dozens of cities including Sacramento, Orange County, Miami and Austin.

Book flights by July 30. Travel is valid on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday between Aug. 18 and Nov. 18 and fares start as low as $57 one-way.

Why is this a good deal? When we searched for San Francisco flights to Palm Springs on Aug. 18 and Aug. 19, we were able to find the $69 fares for both days. With taxes, the round-trip flight totaled $159.20. United Airlines is offering the same price for the same route and dates and American Airlines lists the same flight for $203 RT.

Airline News: Alaska Airlines' New Austin Flights

To celebrate its new route to Austin, Alaska Airlines is offering introductory fares on flights to Austin through today, July 16.

Non-stop service from Seattle to Austin starts Aug. 3 and non-stop service between San Jose and Austin begins Sept. 2. The fares are valid for travel from the start date through Nov. 17.

We searched a San Jose to Austin flight for travel between Sept. 2 and Sept. 7 and scored the advertised sale fare of $89 each way. With taxes, a round-trip ticket totals $199.20.

Discount Airfare: Alaska Airlines Flights from $69OW

Why the cheap flights to Alaska? Maybe it's due to Sarah Palin's recent announcement that she's stepping down from office, or maybe it's that Russia does seem to be closing in on the land up North.

Whatever the reason, Alaska Airlines is taking 25 percent off flights to Alaska through September.

The summer special from Alaska Airlines is good for travel through Sept. 30, 2009. Choose from various destinations including Juneau, Cordova, Glacier Bay and Yakutat.
