British Airways Offers Flight Changes for Customers Booked During Strike

December 14, 2009

In light of the recent strike announcement by British Airways’ cabin crew, the airline is offering airline ticket changes at no additional charge for travelers booked during the schedule strike dates.

British Airways’ cabin crew will strike between December 22, 2009 and January 2, 2010. The airline anticipates some disruption in flights but is working to resolve those issues immediately, according to a prepared statement from BA chief executive Willie Walsh.

In the meantime, British Airways is currently reworking the flight schedules for the strike period and will reach out to travelers if their flights have been changed. In the meantime, BA is allowing travelers to make changes at no additional charge. From the BA website:

“Customers who are booked to travel between 22 December 2009 and 2 January 2010 and for 48 hours on either side of those dates who would like to take their flight at a different time can change to another BA flight departing in the next twelve months at no charge.

If a customer’s flight is cancelled because of industrial action, we will offer them the option to refund their ticket, rebook on to a different flight or reroute their journey on another BA flight.”
