Airlines Up Checked Baggage Fees

Airlines are upping their checked baggage fees, and some airlines are adding additional charges to those travelers who don't check-in their bags online before arriving at the airport.

According to BudgetTravel, United and US Airways will start charging travelers an additional $5 for not checking in bags ahead of time online. Those travelers arriving at the airport with bags to check will pay the already established $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second, and an additional $5 for using the counter. 

US Airways Offers Cheap Flights from Charlotte to Honolulu

Residents of North Carolina can say “Aloha” and smile, because US Airways is now offering cheap flights from Charlotte to Honolulu. Gorgeous landscapes, breath-taking views, and incredible weather are just a flight away.

The airline will offer daily nonstop service between the two cities starting Dec. 17. Its Boeing 767 aircraft fits 18 first class passengers and 186 main cabin passengers.

Discount Airfare: US Airways Weekend Flight Sale

US Airways is offering cheap flights to U.S. cities this weekend. Several cities are on sale, including Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Phoenix.

Here are the rules: Book a flight by this Saturday, June 20. You must depart on Saturday, but return flights are available Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Sample fares are each way and do not include taxes and fees.

US Airways Offers Free WiFi from Club Locations

US Airways announced Friday it is now offering complimentary Wi-Fi service at US Airways Club locations across the country. The WiFi service is powered by T-Mobile HotSpot.

US Airways Club members can access the free WiFi while waiting for a flight by entering their Dividend Miles (US Airways' frequent flyer program) number at the login screen. If you're not a US Airways Dividend Miles member, you can request Wi-Fi Access cards at the Club.

Bom Dia Brazil: US Airways Announces Flights to Brazil

Marking its fifth international route this year, US Airways announced this week that it will launch daily non-stop flights to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil starting in December.

The flights are pending final approval from the Brazilian government.

US Airways Celebrates Tel Aviv’s 100th Year

In 2009, the city of Tel Aviv, Israel, is celebrating its 100-year anniversary.  To celebrate, US Airways is offering discounts on several of its Tel Aviv flights.

UPDATE: Airlines Offers Refunds to Mexico Travelers Due to Swine Flu

US Airways, United, Continental and American Airlines are offering to waive change fees for customers with booked flights to Mexico due to the influenza outbreak in Mexico.

According to the US Airways Web site, US Airways "will waive the standard change fee, advance reservation and ticketing requirements for customers with travel to, from or through Mexico City" for travel through April 30. American Airlines said it will waive its usual change fee for anyone with Mexico travel through May 6
