Continental to launch New York flights to Stuttgart, Germany

Continental new flights Right now if you want to fly nonstop from the United States to Stuttgart there’s only one there’s only one way to do it according to OAG: book Delta out of Atlanta, the world’s busiest airport. Otherwise you have to either change planes or make a stop en route.

Soon, there will be another non-stop gateway: Continental’s megahub at Newark Liberty International Airport. New York/Newark flights to Stuttgart are set to get off the ground Jun. 8 – subject to government approval.

This will be a daily route, taking the guesswork out of what days you can fly. Eastbound New York/Newark flights to Stuttgart depart at 5:50 p.m., arriving at 8:00 a.m. the following morning. Return Stuttgart flights to New York/Newark leave at 9:30 a.m. and get to EWR at 12:40 p.m. the same day.

Now that Continental is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Continental Holdings, Inc., Stuttgart will be the fifth city served by the combined carrier. Continental already offers non-stop New York/Newark flights to Berlin, non-stop New York/Newark flights to Frankfurt, non-stop New York/Newark flights to Hamburg, and non-stop New York/Newark flights to Munich. Continental also lofts non-stop Houston flights to Frankfurt.

United flies to Frankfurt from Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. United also offers non-stop Washington, D.C. flights to Munich, as well as non-stop Chicago flights to Munich.

Continental will be flying a venerable narrowbody Boeing 757 on its soon-to-be-launched New York/Newark flight to Stuttgart. The twin-engine craft is fitted with on-demand audio/video at all seats. The system serves up some 40 films, 60 television programs and over 2,000 audio tracks. You shouldn’t be bored en route.
