Easy Pass Through Security Lines at Airports May Return

September 30, 2009

What's the most frustrating part of the flight and travel process? Most of the time it's security. Passengers who want to regain conveniences at security checkpoints around the nation may be in luck.

Verified Identity Pass, a company founded by Steven Brill once allowed passengers and easy way through security for $199 a year. Security measures included an iris scan and fingerprints. Last June however, the company dissolved, and 200,000 of its customers were stranded without service, despite the money they had spent.

Now, customers may have an opportunity to make use of their money. Henry Inc. a California-based investment group is in negotiations with Morgan Stanley to reopen the security fast-lane company, named Clear.

While he hopes to gain new members, he also wants to give former members a chance to continue service with his new company, and keep their membership unharmed. If the former members would rather not continue service, then their personal information will be destroyed.

Kurtis Fetchtmeyer, owner of Henry Inc. would like to bring back the system in time for holiday season, when airports will be busiest.

Although many detractors saw FlyClear as a “scam”, I always found it useful and time-saving, and more importantly, “sanity-saving” by getting expedited through long TSA lines. I was greatly anticipating FlyClear’s impending installation at LAX, arguably the worst terminal TSA set ups of all US airport systems! – I’ll look forward to Henry, Inc being able to resurrect this service!
